Ok so my FH's mother died a few years ago and he would love it if we had some sort of "thing" at our wedding to honer her memory at our wedding. I have no ideas. He is really close with my mother and wants her to do it. We belive that when you die your dead and in the ground not in Heaven looking down at us. A little background: My dad died when I was four, and I have no real memories of him. My mom died in 2005 from pancreatic cancer, and she was a fantastic lady and a huge Queen fan. Recently while browsing around online, I came across something called a locket brooch. It is exactly what the name implies -- a brooch that allows the wearer to include 2 pictures. My uncle is currently dying of liver cancer and will most likely pass on before my wedding in June. I would still like to put his name on the invitation (to him and his wife). Would it be insensitive to say Mrs. Smith and the Late Mr. Smith or Mr. & Mrs. Smith? I think it will be very sad for my aunt to receive an invitation without his name on it ( Read more... )

Last Monday my grandmother went into the hospital because she couldn't breath. A tumor, it turns out, is blocking her esophegus. Paul (FH) and I visited her a few days ago and I felt confident she would be okay. Although my grandma is 82, she lives alone and still drives. She is sharper than some of my friends.
